Custom "refreshing" icons

I don't know where this should go so i just put it in the help section. also i didn't seem to see that anything about this has been posted before so i thought i would be the first. i didn't write this but found it very cool.

How to:
Convert icon from BMP to DAT:

1) Download the Custom XMB Icon Packager and go into the folder /DATA/302/.

2) Create a 64 x 64 px BMP image, 256 colors, 8 bit with a solid black background.

3) Open cmd.exe and convert your BMP to MIG by typing bmp2mig yourfile.bmp yourfile.mig

4) Now convert your MIG to DAT by typing icon-coder < yourfile.mig > yourfile.dat


Edit game_plugin.rco:


1) Get your hands on a firmware 2.50 game_plugin.rco.

2) Open the game_plugin.rco with a hex editor and find the following 2 offsets:

- Load icon -> Start offset: 0x6FD8 - End offset 0x7273
- Corrupt icon -> Start offset: 0x85EC - End offset 0x8C87

3) Open your converted DAT file with the hex editor and copy the content over one of the two above offsets in the game_plugin.rco.

4) Save the game_plugin.rco en flash it to the ../vsh/resource/ folder. (It's always wise to backup the original game_plugin.rco to your PC before flashing!)
