that as soon as Opera Browser for DS is released in the US, that those people who were labeling wii as a "porn portal" will do the same with DS. i mean, internet browser DOES NOT equal porn.

This could be the very reason why they haven't released it in the US. It was my understanding that they wanted to offer a filtered mode, but to do so they'd need a proxy server capable of handling millions of users' content at once, and as they haven't found such a server, they haven't released it.
Granted, that's just speculation. Your guess is as good as mine.
