Blizzard reboots Project Titan with 30 devs

Work restarts on MMO as developer makes large design and technology changes to game

Blizzard has reduced the number of developers working on its long in development MMO Project Titan to 30 as work starts over on the title.
As reported by Venturebeat, the MMO previously had a team of 100 developers working on the project, but a source “familiar with that matter” has said 70 staff are now being reassigned to other work at the studio.

Work is now starting over on the game, and it is no longer expected to be released till 2016 at the earliest.
“We’ve always had a highly iterative development process, and the unannounced MMO is no exception,” read a statement from Blizzard spokesman Shon Damron.
“We’ve come to a point where we need to make some large design and technology changes to the game. We’re using this opportunity to shift some of our resources to assist with other projects while the core team adapts our technology and tools to accommodate these new changes. Note that we haven’t announced any dates for the MMO.”
