popstation black screen

I'm using firmware 3.10 OE-A
I have the Popstation plugin that let's me choose 3.11 pops etc.
I used PSX2PSPv.1.1 to make an eboot of Persona 2
and when I boot it all I get is a black screen.
I can still use the pops menu e.g. button assign, screen settings, game reset etc. but the game doesn't. Can anyone help me?
Could it be compression on the pop?

Yes, sounds like a bad rip.

I always test the (.iso .bin etc) on a PC psx emu before i convert, so i know its not the rip.

I burned the iso and it worked fine on my ps2

What program are you using? Nero? Alcohol? The best are Alcohol 120% and Ultra ISO.
