I present to you the NPD numbers of sales in the U.S. for the first four months the consoles were in stores. Looks like the Wii isn't being held back, it's just selling like a mofo. And wow, Xbox, I had no idea.

The NPD numbers are only a portion of the overall sales of each console. They are a rounded aproximation that is design to give us an estimated guess at how each console is going. The NPD numbers don't include numbers from big chains like Wal-mart (which was the number one go to place to get the PS2). So the overall numbers could dramatically change the chart.

The PS3 is a failure, all the good games are being ported to 360, and Blu-Ray/HD DVD aren't the next DVD.
Dreamcast pwns PS3 in terms of games, homebrew, and price.
