Well I've been away from psp homebrew for 5-6 due to well broken psp and life, and I was curious what I should do? When I left I was using firmware 1.5 and now I read about 3.10 oe-a (or something). All I'm really looking to do with homebrew is to pretty much play emulators on it so what should I do? Buy a new psp from the store or buy a 1.5 off ebay?

well a 1.5 psp would be best, but any psp upto 3.03 is downgradable using surtain exploits. You can research into these.
the firmware you're talking about is custom firmware, and its great.
I will say, research iinto everything before commiting in buying a psp.
Success HK sells 1.50 psp's your money may be safer buying from there.

Ok after researching abit I've found what I needed, but one more question. Will having a Japanese PSP effect anything? I know the UMD's are region free but does it effect homebrew?
No, it doesn't.
Make sure you get an unpatchedd GTA:LCS if you didnt already know that. And only movie UMDs are region coded but if you get 3.10 OE you can get around that too.
