2.80 -> Dark Alex's Custom Firmware

I've been searching for info through the forum so I can get my brothers 2.80fw PSP to Dark Alex's Custom fw to play PS1 games and I just wanted to make sure i'm going the right way?

**Firstly, I would need to downgrade the 2.80 to a 1.50 (I believe this can be done without needing a unpatched GTA: VCS UMD??).

**Then from 1.50 install the custom firmware (Probably 3.03 OE-B or 3.10 OE-A2).


Does that sound about it?
I've already done a few PSP's, but they were all 1.50's in the first place.

No, it's GTA:LCS not VCS, and yes, you're going to downgrade to 1.5 first then to Open Edition.

Just make sure you're not TA-082 first.

Oops. Got the two mixed up. So you don't need to use the unpatched GTA:LCS to downgrade to the 1.50

No, actually, you can downgrade 2.80 without GTA.

Wrong, the 2.80 downgrader doesn't need GTA; it is a tiff exploit.

I recommend using this All In One Upgrading and Downgrading package. It includes the 2.80 downgrade, and the 3.03 OE-C upgrade. Please note that you must be online in order to use this, as it downloads the downgrader and upgrader.
