You'd need to be more specific. Your PSP "acting funny" is a very broad thing.

Sound like a bad UMD drive...

Bad lazer maybe? when you put a UMD in is there spinning and moving of the lazer?

Or maybe that little switch thing (that tells it a disc is inserted) on the mobo is broken...
