3.40 OE problem

So I installed 3.40 OE, and everything went fine. But when I change the background of my psp to something different (it was just black in the beginning),
it causes pops not to work - it gives me an error 800001 something.

So I went into the recovery mode, and I noticed my configurations had also been altered. I changed them back to what it was and as I load my psp again,
everything went back to the way it was before: black screen and a working pops.

Is this something everyone has a problem with? Or is it just me? I need guidance.
