hello...im new...i have 2.6 firmware and i want to downgrade to 1.5 and get into the homebrew scene...i know that you need GTA unpatched verison for it contains firmware 2.0...i have a different game that has 2.0 firmware and was wondering if i could use that to subsitute it instead of GTA...btw the game is popolocrois that contains the 2.0 firmware...thanks in advance
no you need gta it has an exploit within the gamesave data that allows the downgrading process... it has nothing to do with the firmware update within the UMD
downgrade using the TIFF exploit on 2.71 ( upgrade to 2.71 and then enable HEN through the TIFF, and run the downgrader)
This tutorial program should help you downgrade without GTA.

thanks alot guys...also...which is the most current custom firmware and the best one to use?
the newest custom firmware is 3.40OE, and this is probably the best one to use when you upgrade from 1.5.
By the way I'm still on 3.10OE because I just don't feel like to upgrade again...
just upgrade to 2.71, then use the easy downgrader (no game needed) to go to 1.5... just check which board is in ur psp.
