emulating with wireless?

sorry. im kind of a noob to DS modding. i've been into psp stuff for a while but its gotten boring. i've migrated over here and traded all my psp stuff for a DS package. i have max media dock, max overload, moonshell, 4gb harddrive, tons of roms.

im sure i'll get used to it quickly.

but im a big pokemon guy.

i was wondering if i run a rom for diamond or pearl, will it function the same with the wireless or not? or do i have to buy the actual cartridge for that?
