How to know mapthis is working without the GPS

Hi i wanna make sure that the mapthis is working in my PSP before purchasing the GPS.
Before when i started the mapthis software, it read "Loading GPS Module...... error".
But after some configuring of the software, with the help of the faq, when i load the mapthis now it reads "Loading GPS Module"
then the psp turns off a few seconds later.
So can anyone tell me whether the mapthis is working for my PSP so i can get the GPS.

If you can load the map it is working... but you need to download the map first :)

Bt i thought there is already a map of a tube station already preloaded.

You probably got the prx files which are incompatible with your firmware... make sure you generate them yourself...
Also, if you get a generic version and run in under 1.5 kernel you would not need any prx files for non-gps operation....
