downgrading

i have 2.60 firmware but no writing in my umd drive how should i go about downgrading?

What's this, your UMD drive isn't working? Try upgrading to version 2.80 (obtainable here) and use the downgrader from there which you can get here. You will also need the 1.50 updater, found here. Remember to read the packaged readme document carefully for instructions on how to set up and use the downgrader.

I think they mean it's not TA-082, you should upgrade to 2.71 and use the Generic Downgrader ;).

The 2.80 downgrader by Noobz covers TA-082 and non TA-082 units.

Xandu is a coder and ykb is staff so who to trust?
readme in 2.80 only talked about ta-082 no non ta-082 so i will go with 2.71

I have used the 2.80 downgrader and encountered no problems with it. In my opinion it's more stable. However, it's up to you to decide which path to choose to reach firmwre version 1.50.

ive downgraded before with 2.71 generic and that worked so i will go with 2.80 since you say so

same here and had no problems and it comes from a more reputable group

so should i run the "TA082 IdStorage Changer" since im not on ta-082?
