Very Confused.

Ok im so very confused after reading through all the info here.

First of I have just got a PSP that has the 3.40 firmware i cant find any info regarding homebrew and this firmware. I have heard about downgrading but I then have heard that newer PSP games require newer fimware to run so what do I do then?

So whats the simplest way to be able to run my old PSX games and use emulators using this firmware?

You'll have to downgrade to 1.50 then upgrade to a custom firmware, like 3.51M33. Once you have done that, I will continue to help you.

Ok cool what do I need to download to do this? Also with the custom firmware this will bypass the problems with games needing the newer firmware?

Custom firmwares can only play games up to their firmware version, for example, a 3.50 PSP couldn't play a 3.51 game whether or not it had a custom firmware.
To downgrade, you must have an un-patched copy of GTA: LCS or Lumines.

You cant downgrade from GTA on 3.40^^

Get yourself a copy of Lumines the game from ebay of a shop! then you can downgrade from 3.50
