of course it does depend on the memory stick size.
i think the best idea for you would be to try around a bit with gmdl, so you get a good feel of which zoom-levels you want and how big the maps get on your memory sticks.
The higher number for zoom levels you choose means a higher distance to the map. so if you take a low distance, you get a real closeup. covering a whole map with the most detailed maps gets you a higher filesize. just try it out ^^
