Space Pirates vs The Might of The Mandate… One Rule, No Quarter

Perihelion Interactive has released the first gameplay trailer for its Tsarist space opera RPG The Mandate, which received its world debut at an exclusive presentation on the Game Stage at the MCM London Comic Con on Sunday 27 October.

The https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf-lB51wlNo begins with neutral starship Zukov issuing a distress signal after it is assaulted by pirates. This signal is intercepted by a player who is commanding battle squadron Azimov which is loyal to the Empress of The Mandate. The player engages the pirates giving them the chance to surrender and withdraw, but battle ensues. One rule, no quarter.

The packed presentation at MCM London Comic Con at ExCel London by Perihelion’s James Condliffe (Character Artist) and Michael Douse (Community Manager) revealed the inspirations behind the ambitious sci-fi RPG, as well as highlighting combat elements, crew dynamics and how to design your ship and captain.

A brief video teaser depicting the component also debuted during the MCM London Comic Con, which show a 3D model of a ship’s captain.

The Mandate is currently in the top 3 on Steam Greenlight and was the first Kickstarter campaign to have ever presented on the Game Stage at the MCM London Comic Con.

About The Mandate
The Mandate is a six-player, cooperative, sandbox sci-fi RPG, planned for release Q1 2015 on Windows, Mac and Linux. Set in a dystopian future controlled by a Russian Empire inspired by the Tsars of history, you take on the role of a captain at the helm of an evolving, dynamic ship that a crew of hundreds call home. As captain, you’ll command a crew of officers selected and honed by you, taking them into epic space battles, boarding operations and galaxy exploration. Whilst epic in scale, The Mandate takes the concept of sci-fi RPGs to the next level by rooting the drama in your relationship with the crew – they and the galaxy map will adapt and react to the strategic choices you make, the battles you win… and those that you lose.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of X-Com, Fallout, Mount & Blade, Sid Meier’s Pirates! and Star Trek Online, The Mandate is currently in the top 3 games on Steam Greenlight and has already raised an impressive $175,000 in itsKickstarter campaign, due to end on 1st December 2013. The Perihelion team is comprised of industry veterans, who have previously worked on projects including Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed II,Mafia II, Far Cry 2, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, Call of Duty 3 and The Secret World.

The game is planned for a Q1 2015 release and can either be played solo, or with five other friends for additional strategic and tactical challenges. Perihelion has designed the game to be a no-compromise experience for multiplayer and single-player, and players should not notice a difference in enjoyment level or depth playing either alone or with friends.
