weird problem

Hello everyone !
Encountered a strange problem today ...
Btw. am using holux gpslim 240 with mapthis 0.499 and it has been working perfectly for a few weeks .. until today when I started up and connected everything, chose a map .. and even got a full signal in mapthis .. it doesnt work .. no "arrow" only a cross whatever I do .. :s
Of course I tried to push the square button, restart, reboot psp, everything.
Holux seems to be working fine .. orange light blinking and as I said giving very strong/full signal on the map .. but no arrow :s ...
I even reinstalled mapthis ...
Any1 with a similar expirience ?

i had a similar problem to this wen i had firmware 3.40 oe. ijust upgraded to 3.52 m33 and it started wrking again.

I am now considering an upgrade to 3.52 m33 .. however am still a bit curious about what went wrong since everything worked perfectly for quite some time ...:confused:

.. nope upgrading to 3.52 m33 didnt solve the problem ... noticed one thing tho' .. sometimes while switching between different zoom-levels I do get a lock but it quickly disappears,... takes a second or two.

The problem is with the GPS configuration.
You've got to gonfigure your GPS to output the RMC sentence:

Your location is present in the GGA sentence, so I guess you do have a
valid position fix, but it would appears the NMEA parser used in MapThis!
gets your location data from the RMC sentence only.

While you're at it I would suggest turning OFF GSV sentences, and doing without
detailed sat info since they aren't being read in correctly.

yeah, looks like your receiver does not output $GPRMC sentences...
Try reseting it... with gpslim236, I would just take out the battery.. with 240.. you may want to drain the battery down completely, if nothing else works..

now we have a strategy .. reseting it ...
I also remembered something that may have caused the problem from the beggining .. A friend of mine used 240 with his cellphone nokia n95 and perhaps the device got reconfigured ...
Ill try to drain it completely .. unless there's some other method of reseting. Anyway1 thx for your help.
