Homebrew on PSP-2000 series

Can anyone tell me approximately how long after the new slim PSP's release that homebrew will be available on it or if it ever will be?

I know this isn't an easy question to ask since nobody has had a crack at it. I really want one cuz my current PSP is in pretty bad shape, but I don't wanna have to give up homebrew. I wanna wait until homebrew becomes available on the PSP Slim before I make the switch.

I'm not asking for a definite answer. I just want to hear the opinions of both the PSP coders and users like me.

well first the coders need to get access to the firmware
3.60 is what the slim comes with
then its all downhill from there

im no expert but if u want my opinion, id say about 3 months.

if fanjita was at "the sharp end " of developing and crack etc. probably not long lol.... he's a legend at stuff like that

It could be a few months or years. It depends on if all the old firware crackers are able to find an exploit

or if someone leaks version of the firmware

You can dump the firmware but it's a case then of gaining Kernal access to actually downgrade.........it's more complicated than that.

it WILL be hacked though nonetheless

Well there were reports that Pandora's Battery wouldn't run but the memory stick light flashed meaning the code was excecuted but with problems IE: The menu didnt appear. There is a chance that the code will change allowing the downgrade to 1.50
