Access the recovery menu

Hi
I just loaded Firmware 3.52 M33-2 on my PSP. Was successful because if I go to sys info, it displays correct firmware.
When I switch on it still displays startup screen, I still need a UMD in to play a ISO, etc.
Need to know how to access the recovery menu so that I can set these options.

To access Recovery mode hold down the Right trigger when turning on the psp

It has to have been shutdown though. Not just a regualr turn off
