Since the original question was not answered due to the spamming, I'll take a swing.
Generally not enough things of those categories get posted. A better Idea would be to start a single thread with numbered riddles/puzzles (each contribution would be numbered) then have rules such as: users must place their guesses at answers in spoilers, any contribution must be numbered and formatted (bold maybe?) etc.
If you want to try to do that go for it. It would surely clean up OT a bit since a lot of people seem to be posting that kind of thing in the past week-ish.
