PS4 generated 4% more social media buzz than Xbox One in first 72 hours

New research from Way To Blue has suggested that PS4 put in a stronger social media performance than Xbox One in their respective 72 hour launch periods.
UK data showed that in its first three days of availability Xbox One had 50,703 social media mentions, 11 per cent of which showed a ‘propensity to purchase’. PS4, meanwhile, saw 55,368 mentions in its first three days with a 12 per cent propensity to purchase.
Similar purchase propensity stats were seen earlier in the year for key games such as Grand Theft Auto V, Battlefield 4, Call od Duty: Ghosts and Assassin’s Creed IV.
Overall that saw PS4 claim a 52 per cent share of the associated social media traffic, according to these numbers.
A conflicting report from Sythesio last week claimed that PS4 had a 40 per cent social media advantage, generating three times as much positive coverage as Xbox One.
