One-sided HD DVD combo disc in the works!

The DVD Forum hope to introduce a new, one-sided HD DVD Combo disc later this year.

The disc will be a triple-layered disc that will contain two DVD layers and one HD DVD layer.

It will allow for an HD and a standard edition of a film being on the same side of a disc.

A normal DVD player will play the DVD layers and an HD DVD player will play the HD DVD layer.

The DVD Forum hope to have the new disc approved before year's end.

This is good news, I hated those combo discs, this basically means it will all be on one side!
