The worlds largest and most accurate C64 SID Collection, the High Voltage SID Collection (in short HVSC) has been updated.

After this update, the collection should contain 44,670 SID files!

This update features (all approximates):
825 new SIDs
233 fixed/better rips
11 repeats/bad rips eliminated
910 SID credit fixes
120 SID model/clock infos
24 tunes from /DEMOS/UNKNOWN/ identified
8 tunes from /GAMES/ identified
60 tunes moved out of /DEMOS/ to their composers´ directories
7 tunes moved out of /GAMES/ to their composers´ directories

Another milestone reached: 44,000+ SIDs thanks to the never ending love
from the C64 scene that still produces an amazing quantity of great tunes
for our endless hunger for bleepy music. Keep this spirit alive!

Sidplay64 is a C64 program made by GRG / Shape to play back SID files. You can
browse SID files from disk and it also has support for random playback of SIDs.
Sidplay64 has support for 1541u, netdrive, iec, cmd, ide64 and Sd2iec.

- F7 key works as pause/continue.
- Random routine is now more random in a increasing way.

Hoxs64 v1.0.8.0 has been released. Hoxs64 is a C64 emulator for Windows XP/7/8.

Changes:

- Fixed an EasyFlash cartridge fault when loading a 4KB CRT file or state file.
- Added emulation state file save, load and restore facility.
- Added Epyx Fastload cartridge.
- Added screen border hide options.
- Fixed Retro Reply cartridge banking fault.
- Reworked the CPU code to accommodate XAA/ANE for a MOS8500.

A new version of ACID64 has been released. ACID64 is a cycle based player for
Windows that can play SID tunes on sound devices with a real SID chip and via
network devices that emulate the SID chip, like JSidDevice that is part of
JSidplay2.

Changes in version 3.5:

- Fixed error when HVSC folder was not specified on some machines
- Fixed error when opening certain MUS files
- Layout issues fixed for different DPI settings
- First file played is now always added to history list
- Other small improvements

Jürgen Wothke created a HTML5 port of Tiny´R´Sid which can be used to play SID
music online. Emscripten is used to port the C code to JavaScript.

# SID Fixer #
#############

The SID Fixer is a small circuit board for installation inside your C64 or 128.
It allows you to mount both an old and a new SID at the same time. This gives
you the opportunity to manually switch between the two chips on-the-fly, but it
also enables music player software to automatically select and use the
appropriate SID.

Sauraen and Oikanys did work very hard this year on the MIDIbox ASIDITY. It is a
new SID-based synthesizer. The synthesizer supports up to 8 SID chips (4 x 6581
and 4 x 8580).

# SID Known v1.07 #

Wilfred Bos has released SID Known v1.07. This version supports now HVSC #60.
SID Known is a command line tool which you can use to identify SID tunes from
SID and PRG files.

This tool can be used if e.g. you want to know which SID tune is used in a
specific C64 demo or C64 game, or you have a SID tune found or ripped and you
want to know if it is already in your SID collection.

SID Known can be used to identify music but it also helps to find out which
tunes are not in the High Voltage SID Collection. If you find music not found
by SID Known, it would be appreciated if you report this to the HVSC crew
(http://hvsc.de) or post it in one of the CSDb forums (http://csdb.dk) like
"SIDs that aren´t in HVSC yet".
