2 weeks ago my i borrowed a game of my friend, upon start-up i was told i need to upgrade firmware.
the psp then shutted itself down completely and has not worked since.
whenever it's turned on, the green LED stays on for about 5 secs and then turns off, whenever it is being charges the red LED stays on until charger is dis-connected.
any help please/

Sounds like you've bricked it. The PSP must of turned off part way through accessing and changing the flash, your only chance is to use the pandora battery. Sorry mate.
Yep! pandora for you buddy.
im sure if it bricked because the umd was updating, sony would take it back as a legit fault, however youd end up with the latest firmware and proberly have to pay postage costs (which would end up being close to buying yourself a pandora anyway, considering you are sending them a BRICK IN THE POST - hehe :) )
