Newest Custom Firmware Version?

I'm looking to install the newest custom firmware version to my PSP but, ive heard Dark_Alex has stopped doing this thanks to negative feedback (So i hear. This also happened with Yoshi; one of the leading playstation emulator devs. Some of us should learn not to be so rude.). The newer custom frimwares ive seen have problems such as postation emulator crashes and psp game crashing. And, i'd hate to think that it might have a larger chance of bricking then other firmwares, such as Dark_Alex's.

So, Suffice it to say, i'm a little scared to try some of these new custom firmwares but, i need one (Past 3,40) to play Star wars Renegade....Can any PSP veterans point me to a good custom version update and point out its pros and cons? I'd be really happy.

The M33 firmwares are Dark_Alex's firmwares he just used the M33 name as a disguise. The newest one is 3.71 M33-2 and it works fine.
