Help how do you play against each other?

Could someone please help us. what do you need to play games against each other on the ds.
we've got 3 ds in our house and we all like playing the card games on 42 all time classics but want to play each other. Do we need to have 42 classics game in each ds and do we need anything else.

If the game has Download Play support, then only one person needs the game. If not, each person needs a copy of the game.

A quick search turns up a review that said it had download play as well as multi card play.

You just need to go to the multiplayer part of the game on the DS with the cart and choose the download play option (play against a person who doesnt have <game name>) It'll say something like 'searching for opponents'.

Then the other DSs without the cart just have to be turned on and choose 'DS Download Play' from the main DS menu and your done.

You can probably play more of the games if you all own the game though, download play is often more limited.

Wouldn't the instruction manual that came with the game have explained that?
