One question about maps

Hello everyone, I'm new to this as you can see.

Anyway I bought a slim psp and a PSP290 for my aunt who goes between canada and the states and gets lost sometimes. So I was wondering, is it possible to load maps into the PSP like a real GPS or does it only work for small areas?

I also read the tutorials on how to load maps I don't really get it can someone help me get started thanks

You can find a tutorial for MapThis! itself here: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Map_This!. One of the stickies contains a guide on creating maps. You can make these as detailed as you want, or as big as you want, taking into account the amount of space still available on your memory stick of course.
