Ipod Touch 1.1.3 Unable to download most apps

Having a lick of a problem, any help would be fantastic.

So I'm cruising through installer, looking at all the pretty things to download, but here's a problem. Everytime I try to get an app, I get an "ERROR, Package download failed!" The only thing I have successfully tried to get is the Safari patch. Mostly I've been after an IRC client and the NES and GBA emu. Anyways Any help would be appreciated.

Here is what I did:
Bought 8GB Touch today
Started it up via iTunes, discovered 1.1.3 FW installed on the Touch
Downloaded ZiPhone 2.4
Ran it, Jailbroke Touch.
Ran Installer, saw lots of things.
Only one thing wanted to download :(
