other maps compatible with mapthis?

Is there a way to use maps from other mapping software, say TomTom navigator and have them work with Mapthis. I have TomTom for my smart phone and it would make it a bajillion times easier to just use that map instead of the gmdl for just a certain part of the country and still having to go get geodata for routes on the fly and poi and address lookkup.

So far I haven't seen any maps from other navigation software being used in Map This!, because most navigation software (all except Map This!?) uses vector data, while Map This! uses image data.

Also, those vector data formats usually aren't open and you usually aren't allowed to distribute the files either...
