it's supposed to close right after u use it, mohbana
im running win2000 and i got it to work, but i cant get it on cps1/cps2 emulators, but visualboy, zsnes, snesx9 and most of the others i've tried work flawlessly
Does anybody know if they have this working on bluetooth yet?? And does anyone have the drivers to utilize the rumbble feature??
wow this is great! If it really works. I haven't gotten it to work because:
Can someone replace the download?Quote:
libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe is broken
waste of time joining this site, all for what?
a Rar file with broken and corrupt files,
i downloaded twice the files are Corrupt and broken
**** me its as if its against universal law to use PS3 controllers on PC
you break your fingers and wade through all this trick dip shit for **** all
I've been on it all afternoon, but this is what made it work for me in the end.Quote:
Ahhh, finally!
I managed to get the PS3 controller working. It was a bit tricky, but this is what I did:
I originally installed a different version of libusb than the suggested one: 0.1.10.1
Each time I would uninstall and reinstall, it would keep the newer drivers. So what I ended up doing is:
1. uninstalling libusb
2. manually deleting the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\libusb0.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\libusb0.sys
3. installing libusb 0.1.10.1 from here.
4. let the test application run after installation, and make sure the DLL and Driver Version is 0.1.10.1
5. Plug in your PS3 controller
6. Run the ps3sixaxis_en.exe program
7. Press the PS3 button on the controller.
8. Repeat step 6-7 till the ps3sixaxis_en.exe says "found PLAYSTATION(R)3 SIXAXIS controller", at which point the controller should work in Control Panel -> Game Controllers -> PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller -> Test
Hope this helps those that are banging their heads like I was!
THANXTHANXTHANX!!! XD
I got it working by googling for the broken files.
Files get corrupt and fragmented if they're used a lot. It happens.
Admins of this (great) site: Please replace the download included in this thread.
Still doesnt work on Vista 64x
I noticed that the PS3 buttons are very...strange...which is a problem because I'm playing a game where I can't assign buttons, so I'm having attack be select...any way to reassign the buttons? Like X be button 7?
All help appreciated :)
EDIT: As well I've used Xpadder but it doesn't work with the game I'm playing.
All buttons on all controllers are actually numbers in windows. Go to your control panel > game controllers
Click on the properties or test button and click the buttons on the controller to see what number lights up in the test as you press.
You may have to write them down to remember which button is what number. Then, as long as the game you're trying to use allows you to assign custom controls, you can organize the buttons the way you want them.
Windows vista is very problematic. You're going to find a lot of things that work flawlessly in winXP won't work in windows Vista.
Because there aren't any vista drivers for it. Same thing with 32bit verses 64bit.
They've started making 64bit compatability but it isn't completely here yet.
Maybe I'm an idiot but when I download the .rar I cannot open it with anything other then Windows Media Player. Any help would be greatly appreciated it.
hmm weird.. k here's how i got it working, really different and worked when nothing else that anyone posted did.
1. i installed the thing, then plugged in the controller,
2. moved ps3sixaxis_en.exe into the system32 folder
3. i went run cmd then just entered ps3sixaxis_en and then in that dos window it randomly said a bunch of stuff that i don't understand,
4. i tried to press the playstation button and nothing happened
5. then i tried steps 3 and 4 a few more times again
6. i was about to post here about how it still wasn't working but randomly(maybe it needed to sit there for a bit) all the controller port lights flashed(not just 1 of the ports) and so then i went back to test to see if it works and then it WAS working! now i can play mgs1 with ps3 controler on pc! doesn't need to be an emulator for it to work and must be using usb cable.
But there's still a problem with it, the Analog sticks don't really work right, i try to configure the move buttons to pushing the left analog stick in the way that it should to move in teh direction that i'm configuring it to but once that happens the analog doesn't seem to work properly. anyone know if there is a way to get that part to work? other than that this all works great. i hope it stays that way for when my comp reboots.
Okay, sorry if this has been answered but I can't look through all the 46 pages.
When you run ps3sixaxis_en.exe is the cmd prompt supposed to open and then close?
Can't seem to get this to work...
Yes, it's supposted to open and close like that. After it does, press and hold the PS button for at least 2-3 seconds. The controller should function after that.
Muchas gracias por el driver, funciona a la perfección en mi cpu, ahora que la apague, a ver si todavÃ*a funciona a la perfección.
awsome
Wasnt sure if anyone asked or answered this, but I was wondering if someone could configure the driver to make the triangle, square, O, and X buttons be set as buttons 1-4 instead of 13-16, because the game Im playing doesnt recognize button numbers that high...
So I still can't get this to work after a year. I did everything it says, and it doesn't work. Tried running it through cmd, it crashes. Why hasn't there been a more stable version?
It recognizes it in the hardware properties, but it's not allowing me to do what I want it to do. Am I supposed to put the .dll in sys32 or what? Directions aren't clear.
think i might have a fix add [email protected] to msn messenger and ill take you through step by step
When I run ps3sixaxis_en.exe, all it says is that it found 3 busses, and nothing else. I ran it from the desktop and the system32 folder. Windows detects the controller, but when I try to press the buttons in Game Controllers, it doesn't respond.
What am I doing wrong?

Good evening everyone,
I was having the same issue, detected, but not usable.
After scouring a few forums, I found a solution that works, and should be just fine.
Gamesake - SIXAXIS Setup.7z - 0.27MB
This driver set still requires LibUSB32, so install the latest version via Sourceforge, then install this. Simply click Load Driver. This has been tested via the Control Panel (12 buttons, X/Y Axis, Z Axis, Z Rot. and POH [D-Pad]) and ZSNES.
For you paraniod people like me, this was scanned via Zone Alarm Security Suite, latest version, using the Kapersky Engine, and was revealed to be clean.
So, with that, I take my leave, and wish you all happy gaming.

Hi, this might have been posted before, but I really don't feel like reading 40 pages of that.. honestly.. -_-...
but does the driver only work for the vista x32 version, cause I'm running on the 64bit and I was wondering if it was functional on that too cause for me its not and and I would just like to confirm that status... if that being the case thats really gay... I wannna use iiittt!!! :(
it does not come up as a zip file
doesnt work
please make one that WORKS...
I have some problems running the ps3sixaxis_en.exe file.
tried running it from where I put the rest of the files and putting it in system32 and running it through cmd, same problem: "APPCRASH"

downloaded the sixaxis setup program as well, still no luck.
poops. there must be something I've missed..
EDIT: reinstalled everything and google->downloaded the files
now the test lib usb program can't seem to find anything and the
ps3sixaxis_en doesn't crash but it can't seem to find the controller it only states: "Found 7 busses"
although what is posted/quoted on page 45 here by Red_skull was some useful info on the way.
EDIT2: ok update #2:
been roaming this thread like crazy all day, deleted and reinstalled the .10 and .12 drivers and repeat several times, had my laptop crash, blue screens, accidently turned on my ps3 (lol), rebooted laptop in safe mode reinstalled the drivers and finally, both the testlibusb program and the ps3sixaxis_en detect my sixaxis controller!
(does anyone else sense a big Harry BUTler? yes it's coming)
BUT! when go into the Gaming controller in the control panel it says my controller isnt installed correctly and wont let me access that screen, and the controller is still flashing all four leds.
at the bottom of TestLibUsb where it has stated that it has detected the sixaxis it also says:
Unable to fetch serial number string
Couldn't retrieve descriptors
don't know if this is the problem though.
ps. I think the crash I was mentioning might've been cause the ps3sixaxis_en wasnt in the same folder as the other two files at that time.
Hi. I did everything right and when I click that one thing, the black box appears for a quick second, then goes away. I hold the PS button but nothing happens..?
Thanks for this, I needed it. It's very much appreciated!!
bummer, this isn't working for me either. im having the same problem everyone els here.
try http://www.iraqigeek.com/winsixaxis/
anyone know if theres any progress with getting the ps3 controller linked up with bluetooth in windows
I've had success with the implementation here which uses ppjoy and btsix; running 32bit xp.

Or, you can look at the extention. It's 7Zip, download it and extract and setup. It's not that hard.
No, however, I would simply use a program to re-map the axis. I'm not sure as to what program to use, but I'm sure you can find it in the vBJirc or elseware in the forums.
hey can you try to get the filter in .zip?
when it dosint blink it dos nothing I want to countrol panle and check but nothing.
