Thats part of the exploit process as the downgrader patches in memory to make the downgrader thinking its running on a 1.00 (hence allowing the 1.5 'upgrade').
A few people have reported this problem (never had it personally on all the units I've downgraded) in various forums and I'm inclined to think its due to the incorrect PBP firmware update being used in relation to the original localization of the unit.

Also place the h.bin and index.dat from the MPHDowngrader.zip in the the root
directory of your memory stick as follows.
MEMORYSTICK:/index.dat
MEMORYSTICK:/h.bin

Hi, I'm having a problem with the downgrader. I have a JAP 2.00 PSP and when I run the downgrader, it has a black screen with a whole bunch of white text doing something. I've heard people say they just get frozen screens with the white text, but mine is doing something and it takes about 20-30 minutes to say done. When I restart the PSP, it is still at 2.00 and the updater won't work. Also, the index.dat.bak wasn't created in the root folder. Any help?
