Dunno what you mean about the DSi. It plays all of your DS games.
Then again I do feel kind of cheated that not only can't I play GBA games, but I can't use the accessories that used that slot either. Put that on top of the fact that there really aren't any DSi only games out there, and that makes the DSi the dumbest waste of money I ever spent on a handheld :(
I'm toying with the idea as well, just for the sake of having one and it being more portable. But on a second thought, I already have a psp with 16GB worth of memory and lots of games on it, not just psp or ps1 games. So it's probably not a good idea for me to get one.
Think I'll get a new car stereo and some other stuff instead
I love my DSi, but of course it's the first DS that is actually mine. My gf has a DSLite, but she likes my DSi better, and now wants her own. The screens are bigger, and not to mention the extra features and the DSiWare. And just wait, DSi only games are coming out really soon. Only problem is they are being region locked ><;, which isn't a problem for me because I use a flash cart.
Also, the PSPGo is well on it's way to being hacked, so I'll indeed be picking one of these up.

I already have an 8GB stick and just bought a 16GB to add on to that for 24GB of storage :p
