are they gonna sue ebay next?
are they gonna sue ebay next?
i think its utterly ridiculous that there basically saying we cant buy anything sony from another country. i mean theres just no reason thats justifiable for this action. we should have the right to buy whatever we want from whomever we want from WHEREVER we want, and at this moment we can - except for the sony psp (and soon to be ps3). i think the judge presiding over the case should be shot for allowing this to happen - maybe he got a bung. well if sony want the ps3 and psp to cause a mass financial loss then there welcome to it, it will be there fault and there fault alone. i think the only proviso to allowing imports is that we have to agree that it may cause compatability problems and that the warranty will also be void. once again sony stoops to a new low, i stand by my decision that i wont be buying the ps3, unless and until it ends up real cheap in the bargain basement.
As a side note:
It's hard to believe that "Mario Basket" for DS needs 6 months to be translated into the 5 Euro languages from the US release. By the time it is released on European market the OST CD in Japan most likely will be sold out & not available anymore.
I d' love to know if it's just general lazzyness or if it has a purpose like filling up empty months with no releases
In the wired world we live in there is no excuse for not co-operating for world releases. In my opinion local entities are just not eager enough to work on a global scale product to satisfy the costumer and that's why I blame Sony in the video game market first for being one of the top in the bussines with bad ethics towards imports.
They have to realize the world we live in doesn't work like the 70's. You can't release a game called "Pacman" on one side of the world when everybody can look up "Puckman" on google. Even if there's a reason behind it.
Helpful note: =D Sony makes Japanese and American PS3s as well, so for your argument about Sony "trying to make a profit", it's kinda screwed.Quote:

Oh.. and, I live in America. So.. screw it. o_o But my heart truly goes out to all those that DID get screwed by this.
It should be completely up to us. If we are going to import a console, knowing full well it wont be 100% compatible with our region, then so be it.
I live in Australia, so I know all about getting everything last, consoles, games etc.... Sucky :P
They (the companies) do it for more than just happiness yes, but the people who are actually making the things (not the companies who empoly them) are doing it because they love it. We're playing games. What part about that is not some form or cause of happiness? There is a fine line between people buying things because its made and making things because people want to buy it.Quote:

Everybody owns everyone else and there are only about 4 real corporations here, and they make everything. If you fall in corporate battle, you fall into your capturer's ranks. I even believe that Sony blocks some things from being imported to Japan. For example, I can't buy a San Disk memory stick over 1 GB. Sony is only just releasing their 4GB sticks and they cost over $300 US. Why is that happening? 2 reasons. The Japanese people as a whole are ignorant consumers. Sony has too much control in this country.
How are abuse of power and descrimination based on location not bad guy things?
I feel for you Europe. I'll stand up for you when I can.
FU!K S-NY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now they have realy pi$sed me oFF HOPE ALL THERE FIRMWARE GETS HACKED N EXPLOITED TO HOW ITS SUPOSED TO BE!! might have to wich to a NON-money hungry nintendo kmt ..hope a psp fals on to the CEO of sonys toe! ...the little toe may i add! also that his ps3 burns down while testing GTA4! ....(*but neer release date he sudenly lowers the price of the fantastic ps3 & includes more than they promised....with icecream on top!)...not icecream on top of the ps3 you fool but ..well u know...i hope....NOW look what they made me write! o_O" ..mofos
Game companies like that don't deserve your business. I say we just stop buying from companies that refuse to release in the UK in a timely fashion. We're the customers, so we should deicde whats right and whats wrong!
well nintendo who was previously guilty of shipping to europe last has finally done the right thing and has scheduled us to get the wii console within a short period of the other regions so it wont matter about imports with the possible exception of the price. so with that said i commend nintendo on finally doing the right thing and i say shame on sony for all the 'bad guy' things there have been and are at this moment still doing. like nintendo they will learn the hard way or they will go bust.
Ever hear of the difference between PAL and NTSC, bobnickelson? ;)
That aside, I love having the ability to import items. There are so many good games that you just can't get in America, and if that means importing a system to play them, well, so be it, but they shouldn't really be getting their panties in a bunch over a fairly small import niche anyway. I mean, small compared to the number of people who just buy off the shelf at their local Walmart...
