I just bought GTA Liberty city stories and it wont work because it says " To start You must update the system software "

No you dont need to upgrade to play your LCS umd, just use a certain program that will let you change the disc check so that it thinks you only need the FW you have.have a look around on the boards, by reading what others have done before you will gain a better insite into what is to come.
