I am having trouble getting to the VBA on my PSP. every time I click on it, it says courrupted data. can you help me?

The game is punchy, a very old simple game that was released with the plus/4. Could you play it and see if you can jump forward please?. It needs the > key to make the character run and then while you are running you press the Commodore key to jump. I`ve tried for ages and I can only jump when standing and not when running. It`s as if you can`t press to keys on the keyboard at once if you get what I`m saying?. Cheers
