You could get at least 3 4GB for that price, giving you an extra 3.5GB+ after taking of the unusable portions.

this is because in retail 8 gibibytes would be 8GB this "8GB" is
8*1000*1000*1000 = 8000000000
8192000000/1024/1024/1024=7.45
its not perfect but it how i always work it out
i recommend gettin a san disk then u can unlock the other hidden 7.45 to give u the total of 14.9 but i havn;t seen any plans for a 8gb san disk yet :(
and if the price was about £90 i think i would buy it becuase an extra 7 GB would be an great boost in storeage space for my laptop its got a built in card reader and only a 40GB hdd so it seem like a plan
wait wait wait.... weren't the 4 gig sticks like $500 when they first came out. i think 300 isn't too bad, although i'm still waiting for the price to drop. it will drop pretty quickly look at recent trends. also the 4 gigs are going to get cheaper.
Avenyet got it right. ;) It's just like how DVDs are supposedly labeled at 4.7GB, but it's actually 4.3GB.
I don't think this 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo was directly aimed at the PSP, but more on the HD cameras/camcorders that Sony has (which has versions that come with a a built-in HD or mini-DVD writer).
that is the official price . i will wait for the ebay prices. they are bound to be below the one hundred pound mark . and it was only a couple of months ago when the 4 gig was at that price. i have a 4 gig but it only cost 38 pounds, i think everyone will wait.
I bought my 4GB at Best Buy and paid $150...so the $300 tag seems a logical step...however if you can get a 4GB online for $100 bucks or lower then it won't be too long before you can get an 8GB for around $150-$200...just like any tech...high prices?...don't whine...wait.
thats more friggin expensive than it was to buy my psp! my psp only cost 250$ +tax at wallmart!
Ordered.
