i guess i'm doing something wrong with the conversion in excel but i tried all kinds of ways and it never worked. could it be a problem that lat and lon are converted by my german excel to the format 13,4568768 instead of 13.4568768?
thx for any advice!
i used the following file:

in7ane
Yes, the CSV is ; not , delimited (makes sense since decimal point is decimal coma), redownload http://www.in7ane.com/psp/gmdl0.4.17a.zip and check the CSV is delimited by ;... checkbox

But this time I used another file (but there's also an error message with the file I used before, something like 'out of bounds of array' or so):

in7ane
Could you try once more ( http://www.in7ane.com/psp/gmdl0.4.17a.zip again), I could not replicate the problem but I suspect it may have been due to another regional issue I missed (it may have been interpreting 12,345 as 12345 not 12.345 under some settings). If it still doesn't work - can you post your exact settings from Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > all 3 tabs

wow, thanks, that was a quick fix! thumbs up!
it's working now, no errors in GMDL anymore!
though now i have to figure out how to get this working in mapthis, because doing an address lookup there gives me no result all the time.
but that's not your problem anyways. so again, i really appreciate that you put that much effort into this great app!

This thread is pretty old (well more than a month) so I don't know if you managed to get it to work with MapThis! yet. If you do, please tell me as I would be very interested in GeoData for germany! And I myself don't understand any of that stuff you guys were talking about:(
And I still don't understand why you can't just download the GeoData with GMDL like you do when you download it together with a map from the US...
Thanks in advance

Hey Apu, i`m from there but i know its not possible now in the moment. You can`t get geodata from germany for free, its a monopolism, many kind of companys give you geodatas from germany for money. It´s a business..............
but one hope ,i hear many sites of www. talks about free geodatas in future.

Well, I'm from germany too, that's why I want the GeoData =)
But that stinks. Why sell the GeoData. Who would need it that desperate to pay money for it? Oh wel, hopefull someday it'll be free...

well, i managed to get the geodata from the website mentioned earlier in this thread, i even managed to convert them with the GMDL tool after in7ane kindly updated his software, but I wasn't able to use it on the PSP yet because a search didn't return any results. after that i didn't really have the time to look into that topic anymore because i'm busy at work right now.

Apu
is the geodata for all germany or just some parts?
