So have they released a virtual (floating) keyboard for this yet, or are they still relying on that ridiculous input system they had from day 0?

So have they released a virtual (floating) keyboard for this yet, or are they still relying on that ridiculous input system they had from day 0?
ehm ... don't call this input method rediculous! It certainly is NOT. It's ust not that easy to learn and therefore not a good way of input for ppl. who use DosBox not that often.
So I think there should be both ways of input: The old method with the key combos and a virtual keyboard. I mean the combos should be damn fast if u r used to it, but u have to learn that first :)
Anyway, does s/o have a working eboot fromthis? any chance he/she is going to upload it? :)
For people having troble, search the forums
there is an easy way to use keyboard you have to create a ".bat" file to map the keys
Apologies for the ridiculous comment, that came out a little harser than I actually meant to say.
Have to give them props for trying something new.
Maybe a choice of input methods would be a good feature however.
Cheers
of course u can map the keys ... but do u have a modded psp with more than 100 buttons which u can map in order to get close to typing similar to a computer keyboard? :D If yes, then: MAKE ME ONE, TOO!
I mean of course u can map the buttons of the psp, eg. that if u hit square it writes an "a" on the screen ... but u don'T get very far by this method I suppose.
Or did I just get u wrong and u mean there's realy an alternative input method to the key-combo input?! Then I appologize, but I doubt there realy is ... :(
Anyway, again: Does any1 have a ready-to-use eboot of this release? If yes, can s/o please upload it?
Hi Murdock,
you can get the latest version of dosbox psp from my site at
http://www.emunews24.de/dosemus.html#sony%20psp257
I always compile the latest bin to an eboot.pbp.
THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!!! :)
But u are a lill too late ... ;) ... I already searched and finally found elf2pbp (it's been quiet tricky to find ... not even google was able to :D) and converted it myself ...
But as I said, thx for ur help!
This DosBox is way better than the last one I used (about the pre-pre-last release ...) the mouse movement is better, the games load faster, etc.
well done Mr. CrazyC
Oh, okay. And yes, you're right. This dosbox version is great. The mouse movement is realy better than the older version. But there are some troubles with calibrating. So, if i move my stick and stop, the mouse cursor continues his way slowly. But if i touch my stick again, the cursor did not move... strange
The sound emulation is really good and i did not found bugs in command keen 4. The really strange thing is, i want to play prince of persia and map the keys correctly, but ingame, this does not run.
But, CrazyC makes a really good job like Strmnnrmn on DaedalusPSP. Keep up the great work:thumbup:
1. this cursor thing also happens with SOME psp titles, so I think it's not a problem of the emulator. I haven't played around with it much, but I loaded Colonisation and there was no such issue with the cursor u described. Maybe it's just that the nub was stuck a little. I don't know, but I'll watch for this problem next time I test the emulator.
2. how do u enable sound? I mean yes, it's on by default, but I mean what values do u set in the configs of the games? It's been a while since I messed with DOS :D and I always hated the sound configuration in DOS, especially when Win95 came up and the drivers for DOS were screwed up :)
you can get arund the typing by insalling windows 3.1 works grate for me (boot time 30 sec nice speed in windows)
