Australia sucks in the sense that the taxes are high, but the quality of life there is much cheaper than some other countries.

A friend of mine was on holiday in Australia some years ago, and he says that you can buy a whole VALLEY (you need 3 days to walk through) for 10000$. Okay, who needs a piece of desert, but hey it's cheap!
