Thats how I connect to live.

My PC connects to my router downstairs through a cheap internal wifi card and then my xbox is plugged into my pc via the ethernet port. I had to configure the network a little bit to get my xbox to connect but after that I haven't had any problems.

Hmm, I might do that, once I get live.
