gpSP Compatibility Thread

-Mortal Kombat Advance - white screen of frozen death on loading

- snood - woo! snood works perfectly! some sound problems but very minor.

Gradius Advance - white screen of frozen death

Super Mario Advance 3 (yoshi's island) - freezes after 3d view of world fades out.

wario land 4 - works BEAUTIFUL...slows down a bit when the final "bomb timer" is hit...but otherwise runs great =)

-Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits - no load...freezes

-Konami Collectors Series - Arcade Classics - No Load....freezes

-Sega Smash Pack - after 2-4 minutes of opening trademarks, and after the game choosing menu, games work smooth and sound good =)

-Virtual Tennis - full framespeed, great sound....flawless!

will try to keep the compatibility coming :D

p.s. all games are (U) or (E) that im trying....and none have any "intro hacks"

Kirby - Nightmare in Dream Land

Perfect! The game is full speed, sound is superb

2 in 1 Dr Mario & Puzzle League(U) works great...

Final Fantasy IV Advance(U) seems to be working good, but has sound problems...

The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap -- 100% playable with a bit of some sound issues

Final Fantasy 1 and 2 Dawn of Souls - 100% playable with sound issues during the battles (horrible sounds!)

Pirates of the Carribean works great except for the sound which sucks, but oh well the action is nice.

Wario Ware Inc(U)(precision) also works great, but the sound is a little messed up...

Super mario world advance runnin pretty smooth

Super mario kart has flawless graphics and near flawless play.

Spongebob Supersponge (Absolutely perfectly)

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Revival (really slow),

Sonic Advance2 (Not as perfect but still really good),

Pokemon Fire Red works pretty good also

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow 100% Perfect!

Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance 100% Perfect!

Castlevania Circle of the Moon a little slow and bad sound.

Lord of the Rings The Two Towers(U) gameplay is really good, but sound is a little bad.

2 in 1 Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance & Aria of Sorrow perfect gameplay and sound.

F-Zero Maximum Velocity a little slow with few graphic glithes and bad sound

Gradius Galaxies very slow

Mortal Kombat ly Alliance slow

Golden Sun The Lost Age(U)(Megaroms) crashes

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga(E)(Menace) crashes

Iridion II good gameplay/sound at frameskip 2, but screen turns black about halfway through first stage(bad rom?)

Runs fast with choppy sound. Unfortunately, it crashes at the first battle:(

Fire Pro Wrestling 2 (U) - Works great with little sound issues every now and then

Ninja Five-0 (U) - Crashes at start

Steven Gerrard's Total Soccer works great (very similar to old Sensible Soccer if anyone fancies having a go)

Winning Eleven World Advance doesn't but it's 8 meg so it was to be expected.

My copy of winning eleven worked. It's very slow, though.

A crash bandicoot game finally working on the PSP :)

What Crash games work?

i still have tons more to test....more to come :)

Doom (U) - Runs very smooth, but graphics glitches makes it mostly unplayable, and crashed when i tried to open a door.

Donkey Kong Country (U) - Crashes once it loads.

Metroid: Zero Mission - Music and sound are stuttery/slow but gameplay is smooth as a baby's bottom! May tend to crash however....crashed after i got the morph ball :( test your own luck on this one :P

0602 - Egg Mania (U) - white screen of death :( freezes

0547 - Duke Nukem Advance (U) - Same kind of graphics issues as Doom...unplayable w/out getting a headache...awfully slow too

1185 - Oddworld - Munch's Oddysee (U) - F L A W L E S S

0038 - Pitfall - The Mayan Adventure (U) - Another flawless game!

im keeping a wordpad file of all the postings on this thread...anyone want it? cuz i cant organize it or anything, just using it to find games that have already been tested :)

Advance Wars 1:

Runs kinda slow, tried many frameskips, sound is ok, no crashes so far. Playable

Metroid Fusion:

Runs great at frameskip 1, sound is great too. But crashes when you go on lifts, so kinda unplayable.

Metroid Zero Mission:

Also runs great at about FS 1, sound great. Crashes when you go into the "Samus" section of the menu, thats why it crashes when you pick up upgrades like the morph ball. Unplayable currently.

Great emu so far, except for a few crashing issues, seems to run most games almost full speed with sound. Sweetness!

Loving the list and infact the emulator, but I best keep ZX-81's version for the time been...

...The list is very tempting though haha It really makes me wanna download this afterall...

attached is all the game listings from this post and back....there may be duplicates....just open the file, do a search through it for a title and see quickly if its been tested =)

feel free to make this look better if you can!

0058 - Bomberman Tournament (U) - Seems to run fine, frameskip 1 or 2 for smooth play, no crashes reported atm.

1046 - Megaman & Bass (E) - Crashes while loading the Gameboy Advance logo (for some weird reason)...would assume (U) crashes too :(

0165 - Megaman Battle Network (U) - Freezes at title screen, with stuttering sound effects in the background.

1490 - Sonic Advance 3 (U) - recieve a "Failed to load gamepack..." message, crashes.

1418 - R-Type III (U) - almost flawless, runs great!

1485/86 Spongebob squarepants episodes vol 1/2 - no load :(

taking a break for a bit....more compatibility to come =)

I keep reading that kirby Nightmare in Dreamland is playable, but i have a pair of roms sets, one is (U) and crashes just at loading the rom, and the other (E) by a ripped by a differente group started then crashed. Any suggestion?

No disrespect to ZX-81, but this emu is so far ahead of his that its unbelievable...ZX should just quit, he has other stuff he can focus on....a lot of games are exaclty like playing them on a real GBA.....

Lego Star Wars - Works pretty much perfectly minus some sound issues.

Ya I mean no disrespect what so ever to ZX-81 as he gave me hope that GBA emulation on the PSP would finally be possible. But this emulator was made from scratch and optomized specifically for the PSP's needs to run well. So basically this is just an over all choice, plus this emulator is only guarenteed to get better as I bet the source is very clean to work with for the PSP.

i think this coder is brilliant....and when u combine brilliant minds you get genious....i think he needs to team up w/ another 1 or 2 talented coders :o

Yes i wish he and ZX would team up. Then we will get the ultimate emu.

I dont think there is a need for a SNES EMU from scratch....the TYL one is pretty much perfect....

0245 - Breath of Fire (U) - Flawless, a slight slowdown when in menu but gameplay is great!
