I not sure if anyone has brought this to attention yet, but would it be possible, with or without some changes, to use the method posted in the link below, to get a GC backup running in GC mode? It would be one step forward if we were able to do that.

I know this is going slighty of topic but I have found that there are torrents of Zelda and Red steel could this be the break through developers have been waiting for.
I have the AR v1.14. I put in the code and formatted the SD card, but when I load it on the Wii, all I get is a black screen with some scan lines and the system becomes totally locked.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Any solutions?

no wii homebrew though :(
I have had the same problem with a 16mb Panasonic SD card. Try a different SD Card, maybe a larger one.
I have tried 4 different SD cards, and have tried the load rom from SD card feature and NO DICE. SNES emulation is the only reason I am interested in this SD load concept, and I can't even find the right SD card that will support game loading. Worthless without SNES play, sorry.
Hey,
Over the weekend I played WII and wow it was fun! Eventhough the sports games were kinda cheesy it was a blast. STrongly thinking about buying one..now I hear you can play roms! Just wondering... the process.I had a few questions.. I would appreciate it if anyone could help.. thanks in advance.
1. Is it possible to run the roms off a cd instead of SD card?
2. What software can be used to convert roms into .dol extentions?
3. With the AR codes...it said in the tutorial only need to do it once.... is that true?
4. Just to clarify whats the max SD card that can be used?
thanks so much in advance

How do we play Gamecube Back-ups on the wii then??? Sd Load method??? How it works to play gamecube backups on wii??? plz anser
THX
Just got my Gecko in the mail and started setting everything up with my AR. I triple checked to make sure everything was right, but when i try to load it all. I get is a black screen with a bunch of white wavy lines and I have to turn my Wii off then back on. Anyone know how to fix it?
EDIT: Got it working. I went to check the codes I entered for M and they were all blank. Reentered, and it works fine.
So has anyone actually got this to work? It seems alot of had problems.
Also, how do I convert to .dol?
Can anyone confirm this working?
Even if, I would need a PAL version.
the_eternal_dark you said you have this working i was just wondering if you had to use a gamecube controller with this or dose any of the wii controllers work with this?
Wii PAL (uk)
Got the Gecko + SD card 2gb.
Then bought an AR max for GC.
Wii said 'Unable to read disk'
So then bought a AR GC 'wii compatible' sticker on it.
This time it loads up BUT there is NO ADD NEW GAME option in the menu's
So I do not know why the AR MAX GC disk didnt work but codejunkies said it was incompatible?
What version of AR have ppl been using here?
I thought all GC stuff would work on the Wii.
I think they know about the SD method so they have now taken off the ability to ADD NEW GAME as they are selling there own SD Load method called SD Media Launcher (for homebrew) for £29.99.
I have saved and loaded a save state for a Nes rom but the SNES roms save and load, but won't actually load the state. It seems like it's loading then you go back to the game and resumes from where you left it and not the save state. Anyone else have this issue?
Also I could Load any TG16 or SG .DOLs. Has anyone had these issues?
i cant get action replay to work on my wii. i hav ar and ar max and both of them dnt work
Here are some problems i am having. i hope someone can help me.
AR hardware resets at almost every use so i have re-enter the codes.
can't figure out how to format SD card to FAT 16.
Wii says cannot use device in slot a, where i inserted my gecko.
any help would be great.
I have gotten my Gecko SD adpter, my SD Card, and my Action Replay all ready to go.
I've downloaded a couple of emulators and got them into .dol format
-i've formatted my Sd card to FAT and have the sdloader.bin file placed on my card and the card is patched from the sdpatch.exe file
Now, how do i get the roms to work on the GC/Wii system? I heard i need to put them in .dol format? How do i get the roms to run correctly? I know placement is not a big deal, i justneed a little help, thats all. I'm not an idiot, i did the rest myself and got the WiiCR working.
I have followed the directions and got everything working fine. I am using the method to "inject" the NES files to make them a DOL file. Problem is that with more than 10 files on a SD card, the loading while in SDLOAD takes about a minute to show the list of games. I tried figuring out how to put a NES emulator on the SD card and loading that from SDLOAD instead of a game but can't get it to work. I found an emulator that is already in the DOL file format but when I launch that in SDLOAD all I get is garbage on the screen. Any help? Thanks.
Same happend to me.
Figured out a way to load the AR MAX GC disk.
Select Free Loader from the Wii compatible AR. When it prompts to insert a new disc insert the AR MAX GC disk.
Now you can proceed, adding codes with the AR MAX GC disk.
------ Edit ----
After inputting the code and try to load the from the SD, the screen goes black and the system gets locked.
Don't know if other people experience the same problems.
Hi
You can convert the .exe emulators to .dol using the "inject" method and load into SD card as you did the games.
When you click on the .dol emulator (in my case only nes emulator) i get a green screen that goes pink.
When i play a nes game and press the Z button on my GC controller i get a sub menu for the emulator---which shows you what is active in emulator---by the way the emulator i use is Fceu.dol--i have been told by another gamer that he has emulators that work on SD cards and am waiting for them to arrive--i will let you know if they work.
Also i have several more games than 10 on my SD card and it loads fast ----i am now building a separate SD card for SNES and Genesis and one card for all platforms and all emulators.
the question im sure everybodey wanna know-what about the n64????!!!!!:(
Yea N64!!!! Come On Guys I Gotta Start Up That Sweeeet Sweeeet Zelda Master Quest!!!!!???? Anyone Know?
Has anyone even found out which action replay works? I've bought 3 of them and they either can't add codes or don't work on the Wii. I'm starting to believe that this sdload is a hoax.
Okay i found a AR 1.14 but now i can't enter in the last two lines for some reason they say the code is invalid? I'm confused which AR works with the Wii?
I have AR 1.14A and mine works fine. Go through and re-enter all the codes starting with the M code. Make sure that you enter them about 3 at a time to be sure you enter each one correctly.
I have a question:
I started the Snes9xGx emulator on my Wii with WiiKey. I added some roms on their setup disc and can play the real old classic games. But now I want to save. Can I save as well on normal GameCube memory cards? Do I have to format them?
Addendum:
Yes, it's possible to save it on the original GameCube Memory Cards. Of course there should be enough space free... *blush*
do you have to order this ? is there anyway to do this without ordering?
Here's the story. I'm an animator and very amateur game dev looking at buying and developing for the wii. I've never done console games before and I figured this would be a great place to start. Before I sink all the money into this, however, I have a few questions.
1) Does this SD Media loader actually work [well]?
2) Is there any way to develop a wii game and not resort to GameCube mode?
3) What format does the developed game need to be in and how do I make it? I'm used to making simple flash games and more complicated Mac games which I burn to an ISO to try it on different configurations. Is there any program I can use after I finish a game to get the right format? Is there any way to convert some of my older projects to work in gamecube mode?
I know that last one was more than one question) Am I limited to using SD media for home brew projects? I made a graphically intensive game (mostly cut scenes) once that amounted to 3.1GB. Is my only option to cut code, make multi-part games, or install a mod-chip (that would make me feel dirty... I don't want to defile my new Wii)?
Whatever #) Which method is better, Action Replay or SD Media Reader? What's the difference?
5?) Is there any way to use an external hard drive for larger files with the Wii? I don't expect there to be, but I thought I'd ask.
6) Is there any way to save my games onto my Wii's internal memory (SD media isn't cheap)?
Finally) Can anyone point me to a detailed guide on how to program a game for use with the Wii Remote?
Thank you all. This place is a great, welcoming resource and I truly believe I can learn a lot from you. Any help is appreciated.
is there a way to run Divx movies through the SD card? Does the GameCube have an app for this? Is one being produced?
im completly lost on this,
-will the wii be able to play homebrew with this just by dragging it onto the sd card?
-what exactly do i have to do to use this.
-will this exceede and overcome the virtual console due to the ability to use emulators?
please PM me

or anything else.
thankyou
I would like to run Japanese games and homebrew on my Wii, but I think the most recent update I did made it so I couldn't. Are there any ways I can run either of those on my Wii with the most recent update? I also have a Gamecube Action Replay if that matters for anything. Thanks! :D
Does anyone has buy things from divineo ? Because I order the sd media launcher. And I want to know , is it secure?
And if someone has this item it works?0?
·THANKS For the help ,,,çç,
Well, with the 3.0 Wii update, you cannot run Gamecube homebrew through the SD Media Launcher OR the Action Replay method. Now you need a modchip to run homebrew.
Like I said above, now you need a modchip to run hombrew.
I'm a little lost (have read so many comflicting bits of info).
I have a newly installed Wiikey modchip. I have some roms and emulators (SNES for instance), how do I create a new dvd iso that will play? Many people have tried previouslly suggested methods with no joy, and I was hoping to avoid making mistakes that others have now found solutions for (not lazy, just don't wanna re-invent the wheel).
Alternatively, I have heard lots of mention of downloadable isos that contain said emulators and roms, but can't actually find such a thing myself. If someone could PM me a link to one of those that would save the trouble.
I actually own a Megadrive, SNES, N64 & Master System (as well as Dreamcast, Gamecube and obviously Wii)! I also own all the old classic I want to play. Only trouble is, I just don't have space in front of my tv for all those consoles and all the plugs and cables just make it impractical.
Playing them all on my Wii would be lovely, but I refuse to pay £7 via Virtual Console to play an old game I already own!
Sorry if I'm repeating others, but I'm kind of stuck!
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
could i somehow get a copy of someones sd card with sd load i have the action replay the gamecube sd adapter and an sd card but i cant get sdload to work
