Anyone tried the PSP Magic Stand?

If so, does it get in the way of the PSP-290?
Cheers
It looks rubbish quality. Don't want to let the psp fall of it onto my car floor or something.
Alright, I'm going to put my opinion in about these "Magic Stands" and the other ones that look like them. I got a 13" model off eBay for about $15. Worked great for about 3 days. I left it in my car all day, but one day when I went to work, the suction cup holder warped in the sun, and it wouldn't hold a decent grip on the windsheild anymore. AFter one more week of use, I went to turn the PSP screen to better fit my view, and the rod connecting the base to the PSP actually broke. Taking a look inside, all that's holding the PSP up is a thin mallable metal, maybe alluminum or lead (lol, god forbid. it is from China afterall). Anyways, now im looking to get a more "solid" PSP car stand.
Thanks JimmySprinkle, now I know that I'm not going to get one now.
What about this one?

Only concern is that this holder may obstruct the use of the PSP-290.
I am also not a bug fan of suction cups, so I got gthe arkon mount which attaches to vents on dashboard...
That's what I wanted to know earlier, lol, which one is that? No one really answered my question......
All of the Arkon stands look solid, but I don't want a suction cup model, and I don't have enough of a flat surface for the one that sticks on a flat surface, so I figured the vent mount would be best.
Your not the only one with that problem, I had the same thing while driving a route on my motorcycle, I also wanted to change the angle of the stand, and the stand snapped inside the suction-part of the stand.
Not really a problem, I've got a solution that works even better than with the suction section, tomorrow I'll make a picture.
But you drive on a motorcycle Dreetje :)
That solution ain't for people with cars right ;)
Laat die pic maar zien gast :D
Well I bought this one (http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoser...68112_full.jpg) and have had it for 2 days and so far it's going OK:-
Here's 2 pic's of it. It also came with an attachment to attach it to the vents, but I have yet to try it out.
Here's the pic of the solution for the bikers who use te stand:

Works even better than the suction-pad on the tank :)
The gooseneck vibrates a LOT during bumps i think.
Or isn't that true ?
Ninja i like that solution, apart from the gooseneck !
Well, I went with the Arkon VG935. I got for about $17 though the amazon market place.
http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-VG935-PS...7554510&sr=1-6
You can get it there for about $20 new.
What I like about this one is that it has a huge range of motion, as well as the fact that the rigid locking arms mean the PSP doesnt rattle around like the fexible arm ones.
Here's a few pics

Here's a shot of it in my car

There's my old crappy one on the left, and the Arkon on the right. Notice how much bigger the Arkon one is. It also holds the PSP quite firmly.

And here is the mount fully extened hanging off one of my records. As you can see, it is more than capable of holding the PSP as full length.
Well, I hope this helps some of you make a decision. I know I'm never using a cobra stand again, and for the past 3 weeks, the Arkon stand had more than satisfied me, especially since it costs just a few bucks more that the other stands.
Oh and Ninja, be very careful with the stand that you bought, because except for the head part, it looks exactly like my old one. Make sure you never try to bend the tube near the head or the base, thats where they break really easilly. And also, never leave the stand mounted on your windsheild when you're not using it. If you leave it in the sun, the heat will warp the plastic base, conforming it to the curve of the windsheild. Once that pastic base is warped, it wont keep a vacuum in the suction cup, rendering it useless.
im looking for a vent mount, but havnt found one yet, any have links to where i can buy one? I live in Arizona and dont have access to covered parking :/ so its death to all plastics on my windshield
Kupo, where do you live in AZ? I'm in teh Phoenix area.. I bought the bracketron windshield mount at Best Buy. It works pretty good but I only out it on when I need it. I was thinking about getting the vent mount, but I don't want anything covering up the vents in the hot AZ sun.. I need the AC to keep cool :)
Does the 290 work better with a car mount?
Does the mount give less PSP interference
Thanks
Most mounts are plastic, so the difference will be negligible. I've seen some metal cover "mod" somewhere, that might work, but if you're looking for seriously better reception, try the extension cable at http://pc-mobile.net/pspue1.htm.
is there a good car mount for the psp slim?, because my old fat psp stand doesnt hold the new slim
Please let me know
so is there a car mount that can hold the psp slim, also i have a holux 240 so i need the serial port to be uncovered by it
