Right, I used cemetery to restore a nand-dump from 3.60 M in my slim. I tried to run the official Sony 3.71 update and got the error message
"The game could not be started."
"(DADADADA)"
That was the error code DADADADA. Are Sony giving dark_alex his own error code? I mean DA? Seriously.....
Does anybody know a way around this or am I just being dumb and missing something obvious?
The custom firmware blocks Sony's official updates from running in the VSH so the error code is Dark_Alex's work.

So just incase I should need to, is there any way of installing the official sony firmware whilst in 3.60 M33? I doubt I will as I love homebrew too, but I have a fat psp which I can use for that.
EDIT: When I tried using the "install original 3.71" option in cemetery, I end up getting stuck on a picture of a still wave after the Sony Computer Entertainment message.
yeah i have a complete brick i made a stupid mistake trying to flas a new theme... aaagh dont say anything i know i should have waited till everything was fixed. damm you 3.71 m33 you handsome devil. oh well i wanted to get the slim anyway.

i fixed mine... i used the pandora battery and went back to 1.5 without a dump... just the original 1.5 downgrade use... it does work :D :cool:

edit... i then used the universal unbricker and went back to 3.71 m33... my psp is fully functioning again :D :cool

Thanx for the detailed info... I had read about the fix prior to the problem so only had a rough idea what was going on.
your idstorage is corrupted... thats the problem when you use a nand dump that isnt from your original psp... i did that in attempts to fix my ta-079mobo and all i could access was recovery menu(3.03 if anyone remembers that 1 lol) from my old ta-082 dump. Im not sure if it can be fixed easily but i know that there is an idstorage cleaner avaliable for download... if i find it, ill link it for you :D :cool:Quote:

You don't need to worry. This just happened to me last night and I unbricked today. (A lot of reading). I have a PSP SLIM 3.71 M33-2 and it was completely bricked w/ no recovery and pandora nor despertar_cemetario v3 wouldn't help me. I finally found a bunch of apps and a file which is a blank nand-dump.bin file, (to repartition flash), eventually merged w/ your idstorage via a batch file. I would use the USB fix if I were you tho. And make a Nand backup now, while you still can in case this happens to you. The process is very tedious. :( And D_A's apps are always trustworthy.

i just used despertar del cementario v3 with my pandora MS and Bat and it took like atleast 30 seconds if not more which is actually a long time when your nervous about your psp being safe lol
but its good to do a dump i guess just to be safe

i dont want a brick though so i agree with everyone nand dumping is really really important if you mess with your flash in any way!

is the Phat dump supposed to be like 33mb instead of like 67mb like the slim?
If I change a theme in 3.71 m33-2 does that mess with the flash?
Any changes in system settings, date, etc.. will change data in flash1. But if you use PTF themes it will be fine because the problem is when you change/copy/delete files in the flash by USB connection.Quote:

I think this is no bug, it's one of $ony's attempt to block custom stuff on the psp, I bricked because I was trying to put an unofficial custom theme on 3.71M33, tried recovery, it didn't work, just wrote a bunch of files from 1.50, then replaced everything with a backup, then brick, but the weird thing is that normal pandora worked
But all this sh*t is to make their custom themes the only ones, that's why if you want to have some custom themes (not made by sony), stay on FW 3.52M33-4 at least untill a good game requires higher firmware
By the way, is there a secure way to put custom themes on 3.71M33, maybe cxmb, if so, wich version?
ok... that explains my bsod-ing ... well i bricked neway tryna run the 3.52 installer... but pandora'd back to 1.50 now.... its safe and sound. i hope there will be a 3.71-3 now...:D

I did a Nand-dump of my Slim and I got 2 bad blocks . I'm using 3.71 m33 v2. Now, should I fash the usb fix from DA or should I wait. I have bricked a previous SLIM before and have replaced with the one I have now. I've bricked my PHat PSP on 3.71m33 but the old Padorah (the version that doesn't work on the SLIM) fixed it just fine and I flashed the USB fix with no problems. I'm just curious about the SLIM since it's a lot easier to do the "unrecoverable brick".
Oh yeah the gameboot worked! Flashing files is fine for me. :)

Okay, so this only happens when you mess with flash with the USB. But what if you tried to put PSPRadio on a PSP, like I did, and it flashed a file. Does anyone/ do I have a problem to worry about? It would shut down when I tried to fix the WLAN radio, but other than that, it seems okay. I'm really worried about this, so it'd be nice if someone would reply to this one.

i think i understand more now... i just researched it (google = very useful) and i understand if theres a bad block using Despertar del cementerio V3 it will write it back when you restore... which could be bad or not matter...
using the original pandora will not do that because it skips them using a logical dump not a physical (like Despertar del cementerio V3) am i right
that's right. That's why I'm curious if I brick my Slim and try to restore with my NAND with2 bad blocks if it will work fine. I don't know if I flash the USB fix from DA will brick it with 2 bad blocks. It works just fine and I don't plan on flashing anything in it, but just a precaution.

Would someone kindly run me through unbricking a psp via cemv3?Ive got a bricked nand-dump,and a different psp working nand dump.,Ive got 4 bad blocks in the bricked psp.Could someone run me through,step by step?
Is your bricked PSP Phat or Slim? If it's the Phat u can unbricke it with the old Pandora without the Nand-Dump. If it's the SLIM then u're screwd, since it's a lot harder to unbrick and a bad Nand-Dump won't do you any good.
Ok,I just configed my MS to have both Pandora w/ 3.52M33,and CemV3 with 3.71M33 installers,and all I can do is boot to 1.50 from the MS,all installers fail, all hang at formating flash1 or something called lflash.
its a Phat,and I have a Phat working one,3.71M33.
edit: Got it fixed.Hell If I know how,I bombarded it with every friggin installer I could find atleast twice over and formatted flash1 a billion times,and actually used the flash0 access from pandora to manually copy over a 352m33 f0 onto it (xmb no worky,but recovery did!) and eventually got it to 352.4m33
So is the Dark Alex usb fix i flashed (nervously) to my 3.71 m33-2 psp phat the solution? Can I flash gameboots, wallpapers etc now, without causing bad blocks? Because after the beta fix it has become awfully silent. And why do other sites don't talk about this issue? Is it save to use things like xmb colorer and theme plus nx v3.01?
I think so, I also flashed the USB fix on my PHAT with no problems, and dumped the NAND with no erros. I'm still a little nervous about flashing the USB fix on my SLIM because it is easyer to get unrecoverable bricks on it.
sorry for the n00b question :D, but does this 'bug' only effect USB flash writing, or does it also happen when flashing something through Filer for example?
I had my PSP slim for only one day and managed to install CFW 3.71 M33-2 and brick it fully in one night... :-(.
So that sucks really bad.
Flashing new FW or CFW with pandora gets stuck at flashing flash0. and can't reach recovery.
( I don't have a properly nand-dump).
If there is anyone with news on how to unbrick this kind of brick PLEASE let me know.
( PS: I read something about merging a blank nand with your own nand and then restore your idstorage,.. but there wasn't a clear methode discriped. If anyone knows more about this methode,.. I'm realy interested).

I found my awnsers @ M4xC0ns0leForum
with a combo of pandora, Despertar del Cementerio V3, elfmenu and nandtool it is possible 2:
- backup and restore nand and IDstorage
- also u can repartition ur nand
so infact what I did is:
- installed elfmenu on my DC v3 ms
- installed nandtool 0.2 in the elf folder (on the DC v3 ms)
- I made a backup of my nand with nandtool 0.2
- repartitioned my nand with nandtool 0.2
- installed CFW with DC v3
- restored my IDstorage with nandtool 0.2

What we need is a DC V4 with all pre-installed, it would make our lives easier. I've bricked my first slim too and it was a pain in the @ss to fix it. Nothing like the PHAT PsP.
i got a very very big trouble coz i can't downgrade/upgrade my PSP. The main problem is my PSP won't read any MS even the pandora stick!!!...ON normal (XMB)mood, the led just flashing and on downgrade session the red & green led wont flash...!!! PLZ help me...
