Im guessing this is gonna be a kernal addon just like he does for the phats when he makes new firmwares its probably still in testing though.
i knew it was possible, i just didnt think dax would bother, in my eyes this is for more compatibility with older homebrew.
the slim psp has twice as much Ram than the fat psp, which 1.5 is native to.
theres a thread somwhere on lan.st that states that not only does the 1.5 kernel lack obvious features, like wpa encription, wma playback, etc. (unless dax has pathed them in) but is actually slower for things like RAM access than the newer kernels, which would mean slower computing so theres pretty much no point, everything should be released in the 3.xx
i would think in this first instance that 1.5 would be bootstrapped into 3.xx in a similar way that 2.71 was bootstrapped to 1.5 in dax's 2.71se. and i would also think that this would further slow the system down.
1.5 aint far from where it started and the name time machine is really quite adequite! this should be only used for looking back at the past. start coding with it and you would be messing with the timeline
wow this will be sweet
if this is real, it's definitely awesome...
time machine, updating via the network on unnofficial firmware.....
dark alex is the god of the psp. hands down. i'm sorry.
I wonder if a CPS-3 (Capcom Play System 3) emulator would be possible if the 1.50 kernal works along with the extra memory available!
Only NJ could pull that one off.
when is this getting released ????
i know NOTHING at all about psps am new so can anyone help me downgrade my firmware from 3.90 non custom plz
[email protected]
any idea when it gets relesed?
its already been released, just go to D_A site or go to the forst page of the post, ive using it now with my 8GB memstick, in 3.90M33-2, and now i have 3 firmware and a pandora in my memstick, cool er??, just read the readme included in the attachment, reading first might lessen the problem.. :)
It's very nice that Dark-AleX released Time Machine but I heard you need to Pandora everytime you want to use it... is this true?? If so, i'd rather just wait for kernel access on the slim
you can already download the v0.1 version here: http://www.dark-alex.org/
and its true that you need a pandora battery but I think you only need it once
I realise this is in the readme, and I apologize if this has already been addressed. But, has anyone had difficulty getting DAX time machine to work with 8 gb memory sticks?
Let me elaborate on this. I was initially able to get dax time machine working, and successfully boot accompanying firmwares on my PSP 2000. I upgraded to an 8 gig memory stick subsequently, replicated the installation process, and was also able to run 1.50 (+hw modules) and 3.60 firmware on it. But upon filling the stick past 4 gb, i could no longer run DAX TM firmware (excluding my native CFW)... Anyone else had this problem? please help
i'm just peeing myself i can't wait this guy is a bleeding genius
