statements don't match. If you had the original PSD, why did it match the jpeg pixel for pixel. Even at this point, you haven't mentioned anything about 3d modelling.

And while I am at it. The 'skin' refers to the surface vertices of the model, not the photoshop image that you refered to earlier. Even if you meant texture, the whole model is using materials so it doesn't need any textures.
