leaf green saves without a patch and fire red u need a patch

Patches? Sorry I'm kinda new to this... :o

for some reason some pokemon and other games don't save or play unless u have applied a patch

They patch games so they dont crash and so you can save and stuff like that. Theres also trainer patches so you can cheat:)
