Mario looks the way he does today because of 1981's immature graphics technology and what makes him a idol in the gaming industry is because everybody remembers him from childhood, sortof like mc donalds and how they brainwash you as a kid:D so it sticks like glue until your old.

If you have a 1.5 PSP you just unzip the .rar file and place the MARIO and MARIO% folders in your PSPs GAME folder and youre good to go! :D
