Goldeneye And Quake Were My Fave FPS's.
Halo 2
duke nukem 3d or unreal (the first one) for me
unreal was just amazing at the time it was released I think it made the original quake look like crap.. and the enemies would roll between cover to get close to you.
duke nukem 3d I loved the deathmatch modes and how easily the scripts were to modify I had scripts that would make you leave a trail of blood at 50% health and loose life after 10% made it where you'd crap on the floor when hit and had garbage cans spew random bits of gore into the air like a fountain.
For my part, i prefer perfect dark, the world is not enough and goldenye.
Duke Nukem 3D....
On the Saturn with NetLink!!!!
(Powerslave was awesome too)
Quake 3 and Counter-Strike 1.6 are my games. :p
Always had a problem with Halo... Master Chief is one of the coolest FPS characters ever, but the whole 'Halo' world thing and the enemy aliens don't grab me. Shrug.
It's like the Terminator featuring in an episode of Teletubbies.
Gordon Freeman 4eva! :D
Doom, It was the first real FPS I witnessed as it graced the console world :)
Unreal.
It's perfect. The playability. The world. The aliens. The crash of the jailship.
The music, the graphics, it all oozes athmosphere.
Unreal is to me, personally, the most memorable FPS experience I've ever had, right next to games like DOOM, Quake 2, Wolfenstein 3D.
I <3 The Specialists, its my favorite Half Life Mod :DQuote:

But, EA invented Medal of Honor and (guided by the hands of God) Battlefield 1942 (and the whole new amazing concepts for FPS... with wide open battlefields, all kind of vehicles, etc...).
So, for me, I think it is:
BF1942
Medal of Honor (the whole series)
Jedi Knight 1
Duke Nukem 3D
For me it's POWER SLAVE, for the SEGA SATURN and PS1. Also Halo & 007 for the N64 I think are way overated. Unreal is better than Halo in oh so many ways, but thats just my opinion!
Nostalgia blurs most people's views. I'm saying Half-Life 2.
Unreal Tournament, right?Quote:

No, he said Unreal. As in, the game called Unreal. Not Unreal Tournament.Quote:

Today, my favorite FPS in a non-classical term would have to be Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. I've gotten so much multiplayer gameplay out of that game, and I've spent hours and hours making a huge single player mod for it so there's teammates. That game rocks to this day.
Thanks to XBOX Live, I think Halo 2 would have to get my vote.
Halo 2 is overrated far more than any game in existence.
Yer, it was the only FPS where you were able to dive throught he air in slow-motion, disarm your enemy, shoot them down with their own gun, THEN land and slide while targetting someone else, only to roll onto your back and take them out too, with a few nicely placed lead ones... Thing of beauty!Quote:

Wow, how many have you guys fail to realize that perfect dark is golden remade with a real plotline, more guns, and bots? Goldeneye was great, but when perfect dark came out, goldeneye was no longer the best.Quote:

well i say when you say halo is not great and then bring up half life its just fanboy talk all over you can never say something is fanboy and the other is not it just wont happen like i said i found more enjoyment in Halo 1 than Halo 2 many times and im talking about before it got destroyed with all the lil rugrats who cheat for ranks. simply was that it was noobified just for the kiddies to have fun online but halo 1 was harder and enjoyable when you get the hang of it.
dont double post. (i dont really care) use the edit button next time. lol :D
Please don't double post!
Half Life had no life most borning fps ever Half Life 2 smokes it. just becuse people play it doesnt mean its good your just a half life fan boy then . i like the 360 and xbox better then any thing else but i dont think halo is the best . none have any thing on Fry Cry or Soldier of FortuneQuote:

Unreal Championship 2 - melee, guns, fatalities (thanks to MK, Raiden in a fps, sweet), and crazy multiplayer. Too bad bombing run didn't make it into the game, that was possibly the best part of the first one, plus, it looks great.
Duke Nukem 3d - "I don't have time to play with myself", this game was a step further into our modern fps's. It also had some cool items: the jetpack, the HoloDuke, the devestator, the freeze cannon. Multiplayer was crazy too.
You morons need to stop insulting other people's opinions.
Doom 1 and 3
I'd have to say Halo 2. I still play it just as much now as when it came out years ago. Has the most replay value of ANY fps I've ever played.
Half-life 2 is also awesome, and has the best modding community so there's always something new to try (G-Mod will live forever on my HDD), but in regards to its singleplayer: it's great, but there's no real incentive to play through it again.
Oh, and the most fun I've ever had from a game is co-op on Halo 2. Any PC gamer out there who doesn't have an xbox, get it next year on PC. Play it and love it.
Half Life 2
I'm with the earlier poster who went with the original UT and Wolfenstein 3D. Actually, those are the ONLY FPS games I've ever really enjoyed.
GoldenEye 007 wins easy. :D
Unreal Tournament (The Original). No contest, this game is still awesome at lan parties. :)
Honorable mention (Not in any order):
Half Life 1 & 2: Single player was awesome, physics were amazing, and who can forget the gravity gun?
All the Dooms: Gotta love the classics and I loved 3. Counterstrike Source: Deagles rule, and so do zombies. :D
Goldeneye: So many weapons, this game was amazing when it first came out on the N64.
Metroid Prime: Great single player, last 2 bossfights were very memorable.
UT2004: Not really a big fan of it, but it is really cool if you mod the hell out of it.
In all reality i have to say. QUAKE
Deus EX
loved time splitters 2 story on 2 players.deathmatchs were gr8 2.also metroid prime 1 of my favourites gr8 graphics gr8 music gr8 everything
Gotta love goldeneye, dont think ive ever had as much fun as gathering 3 mates round the tv to play it, bf1942 was amazing online, but neither get my vote...
Timesplitters 2 is my fav, 1 simple reason...MONKEYS!
Despite playin fps like ut2004 and cs 1.6 and also source on the pc i think unreal tournament on ps2 or even dc is the best fps also timespliters 2 is ownage.
