I seem to have found the source of problems. So here's the stroy:
It works fine on my sister's PC. The controller appears like this in her Device Manager :

You see ? It says it right there in the red circle I added.
On my PC, it doesn't work. And here's how the controller appears in my Device Manager:

See? It isn't named PS3-blablabla, just "USB device". And so it is no wonder the ps3sixaxis_en.exe cannot find it.
I don't really know how to solve this, but I was kinda hoping that the founder of this driver would. Hope tihs helps him.
PS.
Sorry about the gibberish language in the pics xD , but I think the point can be made out
Surprising? It was only a matter of time. Yes, the SIXAXIS can be used in Windows. wraggster was able to come up with a driver for you PC to recognize the PS3 controller. It works as a USB HID on Windows, but he still recommends that your OS should be Windows XP or higher.
Here are the instructions:
Download and install the filter driver (libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe).
Unpack ps3sixaxis_en.exe
Plug the SIXAXIS into your PC.
Run ps3sixaxis_en.exe once.
Push the PS button on the SIXAXIS once if it doesn’t see it straight away.
Now before anything else, we’ve been hearing that the driver doesn’t work for a couple of people. We’re really not sure why, but if you follow the instructions carefully, we’re sure you’d do fine. We’ve even gotten confirmation that someone was able to run it on a MacBook Pro via Boot Camp Win XP.
Yeah, the motion-sensing doesn’t work, but hey!, it’s a damn good start as any other! If the Wiimote’s motion-sensors are already recognized, then soon enough, the SIXAXIS would be just as competent.

I ran the libusb thing and got the ps3 controller working just fine. The only problem is that the driver caused my Zune mp3 player to not be recognized.

i installed the lilusb0 file, and right after installation my usb ports do not work (USB mouse stops working, external hd, etc.) Also, i ran the test and it showed version 1.12.1 - any help? btw, running vista 32.
Try using Xpadder....it is a software program that lets you configure any controller using keyboard settings and mouse....here is the link...http://www.xpadder.com/ its also free... :)
To everybody who is having problems getting Windows to recognize the buttons:
First, be absolutely sure that both libusb0.dll and libusb0.sys are version 0.1.10.1 in your c:\windows\system32 and c:\windows\system32\drivers directory's. You can find these files easily by doing a search for "libusb". If they are not version 0.1.10.1 then delete them and reinstall libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe.
Once you have reinstalled libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe run ps3sixaxis_en.exe.
You should now go into Control Panel -> Game Controllers -> highlight "Playstation(R)3 Controller" -> Properties. Press the Playstation button on the controller and it should work.
I had a hell of a time trying to figure this out. I hope this helps everybody.
Could someone give me some intructions with more info on how to make this thing work for online games?
resinfy, thanks a lot, it works now=)
